Christmas Tree Decoration

I've had this polystyrene cone hanging around in my craft room for, oh about three years now. I also have a metric ton of buttons and brads. So, in an effort to somehow combine the two, I made this little tree decoration for the mantle.

I painted the cone red first (it's a little bit rough looking for my liking) and then started adding buttons and brads all over it. It's actually way nicer from afar lol, but I'm happy enough with it for a 15 minute project.

I started with a ring of buttons around the base, but then I got impatient and just added the others in a haphazard way!

Thanks for looking!

A Rare Christmas Card

I'm embarrassed to admit that this is one of only 4 Christmas cards I made this year. Despite a plethora of festive stamps, for the second year running, I've failed to send out any Christmas cards. Last years I was in the depths of morning sickness, so this year I'm just going to go ahead and blame the baby again! This time it's teething. I threw together 4 similar looking cards on Christmas Eve, and only because I truly couldn't bare to buy any. Maybe next year I'll be more organised (I say this every year).

Christmas Bauble Wreath

I saw this bauble wreath idea on Eddie Ross and had to have a go. I used about 70 baubles from Homebase, using two different packs so I could mix up the colours. Think it cost about €7 to make altogether. They recommend using smaller baubles to fill in the gaps but mine are all the same size. I think it looks ok once you wiggle them around to hide the hanger. I just need to get some wide ribbon to cover up the hanger at the top. I love sparkly things at Christmas!!
